Oh Messy Life – June 4, 2026 Show Notes

Track 1: Jenny Scheinman – All Species Parade

The title track from this 2024 album by one of my favorite violinists.

Track 2: The Difference Machine – God’s Watching ft. Opio

Always cool to hear a Hiero cameo.

Track 3: Slint – Glenn (albini rough mix)

According to the Bandcamp notes, this is one of a couple of demo tracks Slint recorded with Albini in 1989.

Track 4: matt robidoux – shrimp dance

From the album music for aluminum corn.

Track 5: Bob Ostertag – Machine State, No. 1

The Bandcamp liner notes include a long essay about playing early analog synthesizers.

Track 6: Khalab & Baba Sissoko – Nimamasa

From the album Foli Bah.

Track 7: San Kazakgascar – First Nation Spy

From the album Emotional Crevasse, which also features a track recorded at KZSU.

Always happy to work some Ray Aggs into the show.

Track 9: stepskipper – Simple Domain

Heard about this Portland, Oregon band on a work call.

Track 10: Echo Is Your Love – We Don’t Speak Numbers

Gavin from Stickfigure Records tells me there might be new stuff from Echo Is Your Love soon.

Track 11: HELL BOUND POUND – PIG CHI LEE

One of the younger volunteers from West Oakland Punks With Lunch organized a benefit show, so I thought I would play tracks from all the bands, starting off with these Richmond, CA punks.

Track 12: Shark in the Water – Eaten Alive

At the benefit show this band was 100% committed to their theme, with shark props everywhere.

Track 13: Party Force – I Hate Cops to the Max!

Friends or the station and regulars on the Wednesday Night Live program.

Track 14: The Vaxxines – Drink Beer Destroy

These folks ended the benefit show with a powerful set and some special guest vocalists.

Track 15: Remember Sports – Bug

Ending the show with a band I found on KDVS’s charts.
